Get funding to qualify as a sports coach

All sports, regardless of popularity always want to encourage to people to take part. If you are a dedicated person in any sport, earning a coaching qualification could be the next step forward.

Lincolnshire Sport is an organisation that works with many partners to help increase participation in sport and exercise. If you live in the county and aspire to teach the skills that you have developed, then this establishment may be the key to helping you do so.

Funding is offered as a bursary of up to £150 every year by Lincolnshire Sport to aid prospective coaches acquire the UKCC Nationally recognised qualification. The first step towards applying for help is by registering to the Lincolnshire Coach and Instructor Network.

Being part of the network allows the group to form a database of sport coaches, and activity providers with information about opportunities to up take and get involved with.

After a simple registration to the network, a representative will contact you and discuss which qualification would be best for you. Once you and the advisor confirm the qualification, you will be given a basic ‘Coaches in Network’ membership.

If you are successful with an application for funding then you could start looking for a course near you. The bursary will be awarded the successful candidates once they have completed and passed the course and have updated their information to the network database.

Of course, this is not the only method of achieving funding. Many successful coaches independently apply for funding through their local sports clubs or businesses.
