Inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Sainsbury’s School Games aims to inspire and motivate young people to participate in competitive sport. From level one – aimed to get each and every student involved in a sport – to level four – which pits the country’s most talented youngsters against one another – the Games take place throughout the year.

On Wednesday 5th March, Grantham Meres Leisure Centre will host the Lincolnshire Winter Festival. Around 600 students from 76 schools are expected to compete across six sports: badminton, basketball, hockey, swimming, netball and new age kurling.
